Dinosaur Stadium will be a place for the campus and community to cheer on the Dinos and it will also be a place for them to play. We look forward to welcoming the community to UCalgary as a new hub for recreational sport at all levels

We envision Dinosaur Stadium to be the home of minor and high school football in Calgary, where future Dinos come to develop and allow the game to grow at a grassroots level

Football will not be the only sport played Dinosaur Stadium - soccer, rugby and other recreational and competitive sports will also utilize this facility

​We need you - the time is now.

Since our last update, we have made considerable progress toward delivering a new on-campus Dino Community Stadium.
​
To date, our combined fundraising efforts have generated just over $21 million in signed funding commitments. We are highly confident the project will move forward once we reach 60% of total stadium costs committed ($24–$26 million).
​
We are currently working closely with the Head of Development and the Dean of Kinesiology to complete materials for upcoming committee meetings in February, ahead of a Board decision to green-light the project no later than March 31, 2026.
​
To cross the finish line, several key things must happen Today:

Close the funding gap between our current commitments and the approval threshold.

Show considerable support by engaging as many alumni and community supporters as possible, we want to show the Board a lengthy list of Dinos ready to stand behind this project by making a non-binding commitment.
The number of committed supporters is just as important as the total dollars raised.

Commitments under $25,000 do not require a Letter of Intent. Simply reach out to the email below or contact Marcello directly to add your name to the commitment list, easy.

Combined commitments of $25,000 or more require a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) confirming intent to donate once the project is approved.

Donations can be customized to align with your tax and philanthropic planning, including one-time or multi-year commitments. All commitments, regardless of size or structure, count toward the critical 60% threshold.
We are working tirelessly to reach our 5th Quarter fundraising goal of $25 million, and with the March 31 deadline approaching quickly now is the time.

Over the past three years, the 5Q and the University have made significant strides to finalize a new on-campus Dino Community Stadium facility. This has been a vision for over six decades! I am excited to hear about the progress and the potential this will have for Dino athletics and the community.

Bringing community sport to UCalgary

University of Calgary recognizes the current scarcity of sports infrastructure in Calgary. A new stadium will not only serve our Dinos varsity teams but also provide a much-needed facility for the entire Calgary community.
