JON WALDIE
Q: What years did you play as a Dino?
JW: In the transition years 2004 - 2008
Q: What position did you play?
JW: I originally wanted to play left tackle but after numerous talks with coach Nill he said I am just a little guy so corner for my first four years and half back for my final year
Q: What is your favourite memory of your time with the Dinos?
JW: My favourite memory of my years as a Dino would have to be the playoff run in my last year (2008) and especially my last game at McMahon – being able to walk off that field with a win holding the Hardy Cup that made all those years of transition worth it. A couple more wins that year would have been nice though.
Q: Have you been involved in football in any capacity since you graduated?
JW: After 20 years of playing football I am going to take a year off playing football. I would like to get into coaching and I am currently helping with the 5th Quarter NFL Pool ticket sales and in any other way I can give back to the program.
Q: What are you doing now?
JW: I am currently working downtown at BMO, finding my way through corporate trying to find the career of my dreams – and trying to get used to life without football.
Q: Do you have a family and/or kids now?
JW: Although I have been told many times in the last couple years that I should have 3 kids and a family, I have no kids or a family. This is a work in progress.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with other alumni?
JW: The only thing I want to say to the Alumni is thank you for everything in the last five years.
