DAN RICHMOND
Q: What years did you play as a Dino?
DR: 1974, 75, 76
Q: What position did you play?
DR: I was primarily a defensive back and also played some linebacker
Q: What is your favourite memory of your time with the Dinos?
DR: I think my favourite memory was the 1975 season and going to the Vanier cup. I also have great memories of many of the guys I was fortunate enough to play with.
Q: Have you been involved in football in any capacity since you graduated?
DR: I started coaching right out of High School with Peter Connellan as I was a graduate of Viscount Benett. Once I got a job with the CBE I began coaching football and continued for some 20 years. I coached at Queen Elizabeth HS, Ernest Manning, Sir Winston Churchill and Lester B. Pearson.
Q: What are you doing now?
DR: I am presently the Vice-Principal at a K to 12 school in Cremona. I still help out with clinics etc for teams in this area.
Q: Do you have a family and/or kids now?
DR: I have a great family – my wife Vicki is an RN at the Foothills Hospital, my oldest son Scott teaches in Calgary, my middle son Tom is a pilot in Winnipeg, and my youngest son, Jeremy is going to the University of Lethbridge. We live on 27 acres north of Cremona and spend a lot of our time working with and riding horses.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with other alumni?
DR: I want to thank all of you who are involved in the alumni organization, I look forward to hearing all that is going on.
